Multi-Layer V2X Service Assurance with Motion-Aware GNN and Highly Reliable Real-Time Transport Protocol

In event-driven Internet of Vehicles (IoV) architectures, connected vehicles publish real-time driving data via V2X communication to enable situation-aware ITS applications. However, high vehicle mobility and limited wireless bandwidth often cause data transmission delays and losses, challenging the accuracy and responsiveness of these cloud-based cooperative V2X services. This paper presents a Mobility-Aware GNN scheduler that incorporates vehicle motion and risk into a dynamic graph for VEC scheduling. Enhanced by a progressive spatial smoothing objective, it ensures service continuity to and suppresses islands for high-risk vehicles without relying on heuristics. In addition, by shifting computation to the network edge, edge computing reduces V2X latency and bandwidth usage, which can be further optimized by our proposed KCP algorithm enhanced with intra-packet FEC.
